President's Letter Dear GSMA Member,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support that enables us to continue our mission and offer training to housing professionals in New Hampshire. 2011 was another successful year for GSMA. The educational opportunities we offered included: AJ Johnson Tax Credit Training, sponsored with VHMA, Fair Housing Training with Molly McKean and this year’s Tri-State Conference with Maine & Vermont. This year’s Tri-State Conference was held at Omni Mt. Washington. The agenda offered compliance monitoring training, fair housing, employment law for managers, building harmony with elderly & disabled residents, how to manage multiple subsidies, new affirmative fair housing marketing plan, roadmap for housing energy affordability, achieving better compliance and higher scores on the REAC inspection. We can’t forget our keynote speaker who made us all laugh: Meagan Johnson for “Zap the Gap & Stop Me Before I Strangle Someone”. We also had our annual raffle, the proceeds from which we donated 100% to the New Hampshire Food Bank. This year’s Presidential Award was presented to Ryan Stewart for his extreme hard work & dedication on GSMA projects for 2011. Congratulations & thank you for all you do, Ryan! We are all looking forward to 2012. Mark the dates for the upcoming trainings: Tax Credit Training with AJ Johnson-3/22/12 @ Grappone Conference Center, Concord NH Fair Housing Training-TBD Annual Conference, to be held at Church Landing –November 8th & 9th
Attached with this letter, please find your 2012 membership renewal notice. Once again, due to the economy, the board has decided not to increase the dues. Dues will remain at $125 ($100 if paid before March 5th). By becoming a member of GSMA, you will have significant savings for trainings and will be able to educate more staff for less money. GSMA will continue to offer the best educational opportunities available and maintain affordable membership dues. I would also like to thank the Board Members for their continued support and commitment to GSMA and the companies they work for, which allow them to be part of the board. It is indeed a pleasure to be able to work with such an outstanding group of dedicated people. I look forward to working with all of you in 2012. On behalf of the Granite State Managers Executive Board and Education Committee, I want to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous New Year! Sincerely, Jennifer Hanson President |
