EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Sandwich Housing Authority (SHA) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. 

The Director is responsible for the administration of 28 units of 667 elderly state public housing, 13 state 705 family units, 8 units of 667 Congregate housing, 12 units of state 689 special needs housing, 13 MRVP vouchers, 20 AHVP vouchers, 28 HUD Section 8 Vouchers.

Minimum qualifications:  Two years experience in housing, community development, public administration, or closely related field.  Should have knowledge of the principles and practices of housing management, finances, and maintenance systems in public or private housing.  Housing development skills a plus. Good written and verbal communications and computer skills required.  Ability and willingness to work with people from various socio-economic backgrounds. 

Candidate must be bondable and Public Housing Management certified or able to secure certification in a year’s time as Public Housing Manager from a state, federal, or nationally recognized agency.  Post secondary education in a related field is desired and may substitute for up to one year of experience.  The successful candidate must submit a contract which will be reviewed and deemed acceptable to Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD).  Required work schedule is 5 days, 26 hours per week.  Salary & benefits commensurate with experience and Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) guidelines.
